Adriana Hamui

Adriana Hamui is a Mexican multidisciplinary artist, photographer, creative director, and performer whose work is shaped by a multicultural upbringing between Mexico and the United States. Raised in a Jewish family and spending her childhood as a high-performance athlete, she developed an early sensitivity to discipline, observation, and the ways identity is formed through the environments we inhabit.

Working across photography, film, performance, and music, Adriana approaches every project through the pursuit of closeness. Her practice is driven by a desire to move beyond the surface—creating images that invite a deeper relationship with people, objects, and spaces.

Whether photographing an interior, documenting everyday life, directing a campaign, or developing personal work, she is less interested in categorizing subjects than in understanding them. A carefully designed chair, a weathered stop sign, or a portrait are approached with the same curiosity: each holds the potential to reveal something beyond its function or appearance.

Her work explores themes of identity, desire, and the limits that shape human experience, while remaining grounded in careful observation and emotional precision. Across disciplines, Adriana seeks to create images that feel lived with rather than simply looked at.
